There is an area in downtown Atlanta referred to as "Fairlie-Poplar".  That name makes me think of "fairly popular".  And that seems appropriate.  It's the fairly popular area that nobody in Atlanta knows about.

But people outside of Atlanta know about it.  People are drawn to it for school (Georgia State) and work.  And movie crews love to use the awesome buildings as the background for their films.  I've heard it's been used to replicate Boston and New York.

Now that I've been going there every week for a while, I'm starting to see the same people over and over again.  And I continue to meet new and interesting people.  It's like a small town in a big city.

Speaking of making films, Tom Hanks and Clint Eastwood have been spotted this week in Atlanta.

I looked for them but could only find signs.  I found out later they were 20 feet away from me inside 200 Peachtree.  Oh, well.  Maybe next time.
